The Riserva Naturale Bosco di Alcamo was established in 1984.
This forest is characterized by the presence of conifers, pines, cypresses, oaks and ash trees where rabbits, foxes, porcupines, hedgehogs, weasels, buzzards, kestrels, barn owls and tawny owls have found refuge and can live an undisturbed life. The undergrowth is characterized by examples of peony, acanthus, ferrule, ampelodesma, ranunculus, valerian, asphodel, common and purple birdsfoot, mastic, palm, butcher's broom and spurge. Besides the lush nature and its beauty that can be found in this nature reserve, visitors can enjoy great views.
The nature reserve is located south of the town of Alcamo, about 15 mimutes by car.
