Villages & Towns
Caccamo is located not far from the sea, it is only 10 kilometres to the Gulf of Termini Imerese. The main economic resources are agriculture and livestock. The products of the land are cereals, almonds and olives. Of particular relevance are meat, dairy products and extra virgin olive oil.
Of touristic interest is the Medieval castle, which is towering over the village and is one of the most impressive in Sicily and in Italy. It was built in the twelfth century as a typical defense castle. Inside, the 'Hall of Conspiracy' is an impressive piece of fine workmanship.
Caccamo is a lovely destination for a half day excursion from Cefalù and Palermo and its surrounding villages. There are several religious festivals celebrated during the year, as well as the (in Sicily) well known Sausage Festival (Sagra della Salsiccia) which takes place in Autumn.
