Markets
Organized since the Second World War with sheet metal shacks, the flea market features mostly furniture, it is a permanent exhibition of antiques.
This antique market displays not only antiques, but also the latest interesting pieces of vintage and modern art. With a little patience you could make some good deals. Since 1951, the dealers moved the stalls to Piazza Peranni. After a short while they began to build among the trees of the square huts with wood and waste material, so gradually rised what is now known worldwide as the Flea Market in Palermo. The market has played an important economic role in the area: born from the despair of war and the art of getting by to make ends, the market has become an antiques centre, also for restoration and reconstruction of period furniture. In the whole area you will find many antiques and vintage shops.
