Description

We will meet at the church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti in Palermo (via dei Benedettini), here our tour will begin which will visit two magnificent towns: Erice and Segesta. Our first destination will be Erice, a charming medieval village located on top of a hill overlooking the splendid Sicilian coast. The narrow cobbled streets, lined with Norman architecture buildings, will lead you through a labyrinth of history and charm. Inside the city walls, you can admire the majestic Venus Castle, a fortress that offers a spectacular view of the blue sea below and the suggestive surrounding landscapes. Not far from here, the Mother Church will welcome you with its grandeur and its architectural details, transporting you back in time and immersing you in the mystical atmosphere of the Middle Ages. In Erice it will also be possible to use the famous cable car, which will allow us to go up to the upper part of the town, where it will be possible to admire a magnificent landscape: you can observe the intense blue of the sea which extends to the horizon, caressing the cliffs below. The surrounding hills are painted green, dotted with ancient villages and cultivated fields, while the wind whispers through the trees. Also famous for its desserts, here there are several typical pastry shops where it will be possible to taste the local delicacies. Next, the tour will take us to Segesta, famous for its extraordinary archaeological sites. Here, you will be transported to antiquity as you explore the ruins of the Doric temple, a majestic work that stands solemnly in the surrounding landscape. The imposing columns and the solid structure of the temple tell stories of a glorious past, offering you a timeless spectacle. Not far away, the Greek theatre, located at the top of a panoramic hill, will surprise you with its grandeur and its atmosphere full of history. Here, you can imagine the ancient Greeks gathering to watch shows and performances, while the breathtaking panorama will give you an unforgettable glimpse of the surrounding countryside.
